The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report of Transylvania County for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2016, is hereby submitted. Laws of the State of North Carolina along with policies and procedures of the North Carolina Local Government Commission require that all local governments in the state publish a complete set of financial statements annually. The financial statements must be presented in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and audited by licensed certified public accountants in accordance with auditing standards generally accepted in the United States of America. We have audited, in accordance with the auditing standards generally accepted in the United States of America and the standards applicable to the financial audits contained in Government Auditing Standards, issued by the Comptroller General of the United States, the financial statements of the governmental activities, the business-type activities, the discretely presented component unit, each major fund, and the aggregate remaining fund information of Transylvania County, North Carolina, as of and for the year ended June 30, 2016, not presented here, and the related notes to the financial statements which collectively comprise the County’s basic financial statements, which collectively comprise the County’s basic financial statements, and have issued our report thereon dated November 15, 2016.
