Commissioner Hawkins who
heads up the County’s
Sesquicentennial
Committee met with
enthusiastic citizens to
gather input for
Transylvania County’s
upcoming 150th
birthday in the County
Library’s Rogow Room.
Transylvania County’s
sesquicentennial or 150th
year will begin in
2011. A large group of
citizens came prepared
to share ideas about the
upcoming celebration.
The group was
entertained during the
pre-meeting social by
Mary and Lo Gordon along
with Elizabeth
Galloway. Elizabeth
Rahn joined the fun and
demonstrated her
interpretation of old
time dancing during the
music. The meeting was
both fun and
productive.
A good time was had
by all!
