The primary purpose of the Transylvania County HOME Homeowner Rehabilitation program is to provide decent, safe, and sanitary housing in Transylvania County. All homes receiving funding through this program must be brought up to North Carolina State Building Code (2012) Standards. The intent is to keep housing safe and affordable for the current low-income homeowners. Transylvania County is currently soliciting itemized bids for the rehabilitation and renovation of a:

1) bungalow style single-family house built in 1910,

2) ranch style single-family house built in 1972, and

3) single-family house originally built in 1950.

Through this Request For Proposals (RFP), Transylvania County is soliciting bids from experienced, licensed contractors to bring one, two or all three homes up to code.

A copy of the RFP with detailed specifications, selection criteria and pre-submittal conference information is available here. The deadline for submittal of a proposal is 5:00 p.m., Friday, March 21, 2018. Questions regarding the RFP and proposals should be submitted to Joy Fields in the Transylvania County Planning and Community Development Department located at 106 East Morgan Street, Suite 207, Brevard, NC 28712; at [email protected]; or at 828-884-3205.
