Chairman Miller called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Chairman Miller welcomed the audience and announced that this was a public hearing to solicit input on a request from Lowe’s Inc.  The chairman turned the hearing over to the manager, who reported that Lowe’s has requested reimbursement of costs associated with the installation of a sewer lift station.  The manager explained that the county’s 50% portion of costs would not exceed $10,000.  He reminded commissioners that the Lowe’s project will create 80 full time jobs and 30 permanent part-time jobs.  The investment, including acquisition of land, is projected at $12 million.  Based on the estimated ad valorem taxes generated from this project, the county’s portion of the funding would have a payback of 0.3 of a year.  The lift station would also be adequate to service adjoining properties, if needed in the future.
