Notice is hereby given that it is the intent of the Transylvania County Board of Commissioners to donate the following personal property that has been declared surplus by the County Manager:


1. To the Boys and Girls Club of Transylvania County: Janitorial supplies no longer used by the County’s Housekeeping department, including 17 two-liter bottles of ph7 Ultra and 33 two-liter bottles of GS neutral cleaner. Original cost $2,981.
2. To Transylvania Vocational Services: Van to be used for their delivery service provided by special needs clients. The van is a 1994 Ford E250 with 61,838 miles and has a salvage value of $1,376. It was formerly used by the Maintenance and Animal Services departments and is no longer needed.
North Carolina General Statute § 160A-280 allows the County to donate surplus personal property to another governmental unit or nonprofit organization incorporated in the United States. Prior to donation, the County must post public notice of its intent to donate the property. The donation will be approved through adoption of a resolution during the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners on December 12, 2017.
