SEEKING VOLUNTEERS FOR THE TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE

What is a Community Advisory Committee member and what do they do?

The Community Advisory Committee works to maintain the rights of the elderly and disabled who live in long term care facilities such as Nursing Homes and Adult Care Homes. Members make regular visits to facilities and are available to help resolve matters of concern that may arise during the resident’s stay in a home. The committee members are also the link between the Transylvania County community and the long term care facilities, seeking to increase community involvement and public awareness regarding issues in long term care. Local citizens may apply to the Transylvania County Board of Commissioners to serve as Community Advisory Committee volunteers. Individuals with an interest in ensuring quality care for long term care residents should apply.
