The Flat Rock campus is located on College Drive,which connects Airport Road and South Allen Road, two and a half miles southeast of Hendersonville, Henderson County, North Carolina. A ten-building complex provides 279,288 square feet of floor space, divided into shop and laboratory space, classrooms, library, learning center, office and reception space, and student lounge area. Campus facilties include a comprehensive library, a state-of-the-art environmental and safety training center, a 450-seat teaching and performing auditorium, a lecture center, a 66,000 square foot applied technology training center, and a two-way interactive distance learning center. Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute
The Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute is a not-for-profit public foundation dedicated to providing research and educational access to radio and optical astronomy for a broad cross-section of users. Pre-college through post-graduate students have the opportunity to work and learn with full time and visiting astronomers. Additional access is provided on a remote basis, through their Internet site resource and the StarLab planetarium, to grades K-12 and the public. |
